Ashley McCalmont has a good reason not to finish the 09 season
Ancaster, ON- June 15, 2009-Ashley McCalmont and her fiancé Brennan Diderdo are ecstatic to announce they are expecting a new addition to their family. With mixed feelings, McCalmont has decided to put her racing career on hold until the baby is born in January.
McCalmont is excited to be expecting, and she can’t wait to see what the future will bring. January will be a very exciting month next year with the arrival of their newborn and the opening race of the season to take place in Daytona. Although McCalmont is looking forward to becoming a new mother, she is also looking forward to racing next season. This is a new chapter in her life, but she still wants to continue with her highly successful career.
It was with a heavy heart that McCalmont did decide to put the rest of the season on hold. She has had such a phenomenal start to the season, thanks to her hard work and the hard work of the team and crew as a whole. McCalmont has made it to the podium twice, both for third place, as well as two fourths. She hoped the same results will follow next season. McCalmont would like to thank all the members of her crew including, Dave, Rody, Tommy, Mike, Dave, Kirk, Jamie, Orv and Ed.
During the six month hiatus, the team will be keeping themselves very busy. The crew and crew chief are busily preparing for next season, and rumor has it, McCalmont may be racing in a new car next season.
